JOB SUMMARY

Randall & Hurley is the largest Actuarial and Third Party Administrative firm in the Inland
Northwest and Montana, providing high-quality, high-touch retirement plan consulting,
record-keeping and administration. We are passionate about providing value to our clients
and maintaining enduring relationships.

Ideally this position would be onsite in our Liberty Lake, Washington office, however
remote is available for the right candidate. We are seeking an experienced professional
who can produce quality and timely work for our clients with the following skills and
attributes:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expert technical and research skills regarding retirement programs, compliance, and
    design as evidenced by attainment of applicable SOA EA, or ASA designations
  • Review and certify all aspects of the actuarial reporting and filings related to Defined
    Benefit and Cash Balance plans, including various Accounting Standards Disclosures
  • Perform and review actuarial valuations for Defined Benefit and Cash Balance plans in
    accordance with IRS laws and regulations
  • Prepare and review annual non-discrimination testing for qualified pension plans
    including Cash Balance, Defined Benefit, 401(k), Profit Sharing, and Money Purchase
    Pension Plans
  • Prepare projections that will meet all non-discrimination requirements
  • Maintain qualified form of documents, including all amendments
  • Prepare, review and consult regarding plan termination filings with the IRS and
    PBGC
  • Maintain awareness of laws, regulations, internal policies, and procedures
  • Prepare and review annual Accounting Standards Disclosures
  • Prepare and review distribution packages and annual participant statements
  • Prepare, review, and deliver government form filings (Form 5500, Schedule SB, etc.)
  • Lead and participate in retirement plan consulting projects
  • Direct client contact relationship development

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business
    Administration, or equivalent professional work experience
  • ASA, FSA or Enrolled Actuary designation in good standing
  • Membership in at least one of the following:
    • The Society of Actuaries (SOA)
    • The American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries American
      Society of Enrolled Actuaries (ASPPA/ASEA)
    • The American Academy of Actuaries (AAA)
  • Knowledge of and experience with all aspects of Defined Benefit plans including
    funding and accounting requirements
  • Knowledge of business entities as they relate to plan compensation and plan design
  • Thorough knowledge of Cash Balance Plans
  • Superior, quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Relius software preferred
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and tact

JOB TYPE

Full-Time. Scheduled hours are typically 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Additional hours may be
required during busy seasons and other times as needed.
